Give and take is the basic principle behind giving baby shower party favors. The guests bring gifts along for the mother-to-be and in most cases the guests don't expect anything in return, but it is always nice to show a token of your appreciation for them attending the shower. It is nothing to bring a gift, a plate of food or snacks with you when you are a guest, particularly in these tough economic times.

But make sure you have extra's on hand, you never know, and you may end up with more guests than you anticipated.

Favors can be handed out at prizes in games, if you play them at the event, or just given to departing guests.
